so I've gotten totally behind in my blogging. I had good intentions on writing on a regular basis, but I've been caught up in Jeremy being home and last minute business before Chrismas.
The weekend Jeremy got home (the 15th) we did all of our Christmas shopping. Lets just say, I've learned the hard way to never again wait until the last minute to do all of our shopping. People are nuts. I would nearly venture to say that the whole population of Colorado somehow made it into the same Walmart I went to. The parking lot was insane. You could hardly push a cart inside the store without running into someone else. I purposly did a few times actually. And of course, the mass of the population wanted to be in the same area as myself. The toys. We were like lost heards of cattle, pushing and shoving through the aisles. Fearful of what awaited around the next bend. Straying in various directions with panic as if a hungry cyote were chasing after us. While I'll agree this could be a slight exageration, I stick to my story completly by just saying...people are nuts. The walmart was out of nearly everything on my list that I set out to buy for the kids and I was so stressed out by all the cattle :) that I just wanted to leave. So we did. We headed across the street to the toys r us. From afar, it looked as if I could be stepping into an even more dangerous situation. But none the less, santa clause has to show up with something under the tree, so we went anyway. To my delight, Toys R us seemed to hold a sense of peace in comparison to walmart. We strolled through the aisles graciously, one by one throwing things into the cart and checking them off the list. We completed our shopping in a timely matter and even spent less money than anticipated. If God was shopping anywhere that day, it was definantly toys r us. Its probable that satan was present at the walmart across the street. I'm happy to say that we ended our shopping experience on a light note by going out to dinner for a friends birthday afterward. I even got to enjoy a pomagrante martini. Yum.
During the rest of the week Jeremy and I tied up loose ends. We bought small things here and there for people other than our kids, mailed out 50+ Christmas cards and did small family celebrations early so that Jeremy could be here. We also had an ADT system installed, learned of an interesting situation involving my husband being someone elses secret crush, and made a walgreens employee cry. Sounds harsh, I know, but trust me, there was no non-christ like behavior involved on our end. I promise. Othere than that, we had fairly normal sort of days.
Jeremy was back off to work yesterday and now today is Christmas Eve. I'm not sure christmas eve qualifies as a holiday or not, but I've always sort of looked at it as one. I think most people do. But I'm actually enjoying my normal, lazy, typical monday afternoon today. Tonight I'll be off to the church since I'm in the choir and participating in the Christmas eve service. Yesterday at church we (the choir) got to feature an old gospil hym and a popular U2 song "Where the streets have no Name" So needless to say, I've felt busy because of spending longer hours at the church this week, but come mid week, Christmas will be over and days will return to a familiar bore.
I hope everyone has a great week and a Merry Christmas!! Enjoy each other and the spirit of the season!
